A key target for Demo-4 is to demonstrate “easy” and “flexible” automation technology integration in a factory environment (e.g. outside the laboratory environment).
The demo flow will showcase a production facility, where mobile robots from different vendors and brands will be used for machine tending in a factory production setup. The AMRs (autonomous mobile robots) will supply raw materials when needed to the production cells and collect finished products from the cells. Raw material and finished products will be stored in an automated storage cell.
The demo builds on the results demonstrated in the previous demo. In Demo-4 there will be added multiple production cells, an automated storage and quality assurance cells. It is also the aim to demonstrate Inter-Fleet integrated fleet control and coordination between multiple AMRs from different vendors and their individual fleet control systems, and how traffic, production and intralogistics tasks and needs can be coordinated and handled automatically.
In the 5G-ROBOT project, the major project phases are usually concluded with a demonstration that demonstrates the new achievements. In this project, we have demonstrated as much as possible in an integrated demonstration in a factory test setup that resembles a real factory as much as possible for selected aspects.
